To switch to the other bank, select a button (I use buttons 11 and 13) and right below, under Computer response, from the popdown, select "Switch settings" and select either "Previous" or "Next." If you only have 2 settings banks, you only need to use 1 button, "Next," if you have more, then you can either have 2 buttons, Next and Previous, or just Next and scroll through the banks of settings. You now have a copy of the previous one.You can also change the name of the original one to be more descriptive. If your original settings name is "Vegas." and not "Magix Vegas.," the use the same first word, "Vegas.," so that they show up one after the other in alphabetical order on the list. Right below Application setting is now "Customized Settings" - open Options, Rename settings and change the name to "Magix Vegas something" (a descriptive name like effects or import or whatever will remind you as to what it is, say Effects). If not, navigate to it and select the VegasXXX.exe file. This opens an Explorer view which should be the main Program Files for Vegas.Right below Application setting is Factory Setting - Options - open Options - Create new settings - Copy contents from current settings.Open the CSP control panel and scroll down the Applications setting to get your Vegas settings. It takes a while to get used to the CSP, but it's worth it. I used the template image in Xara, made images of all of my setups and printed them out changed them when I changed the commands around. I suggest that you print it and write which commands go with which buttons. There is a template image of the CSP buttons. My goal was to reduce having to open menus or use shortcuts on the keyboard keep one hand on the CSP, the other on the mouse. If there is a button on the screen, I use that and save the CSP for commands that have to be selected from a menu whether long or short or by using a shortcut. I went for those that don't always have a button available on the screen. I settled on one main settings group with the commands that I use a lot for editing the other two groups are used infrequently. It will take you a while to determine what works best for you. This allows you to have more banks of commands available. Add in a switch settings command on a button I use 2 buttons for switching - one for Next, the other for Previous. In case you're not aware, you can have several settings for the same application. I do use CSP for Video Pro X all of the time and I went through several configurations before settling on what I have now, and even then I might tweak a few settings. John haven't changed any of the commands on my CSP (Contour ShuttlePro v2) for Vegas 15 since I don't use Vegas much I just used the downloaded default pref from the Contour site. If you intend to upgrade I would suggest you make a backup image of your PC before doing so - I use CloneZilla to create an image to an external hard drive - also do this about every 3 months as an insurance against hardware failure. If you upgrade direct to version 1903 then there is another potential issue - some folders become inaccessible - there is a new feature in Windows Defender - folder protection - this can be easily fixed. Windows 10 activation may fail if you have to replace major components in your PC - Microsoft fixed this for me.The user account gets messed up - this one is rare, however it did happen to me in the 1803 upgrade - fixed by creating a new account.Activation of some software can be 'removed' - requires re-activation and in the worst case scenario re-installation, ensuring that all remnants of the program are removed.Older software fails to work with Win 10.Issues that I have experienced going through the Win 10 upgrade sequence ie 1607, 1703, 1709, 1803 ( over a period of 3yrs) are: No confirmation email with CSP - I do not use it, however (slightly OT) for many people the upgrade from Win 7 to 10 proceeds quite smoothly, I am still on Windand have been holding off upgrading to 1903.
